Booklet FAQs
How many sheets do I need for a booklet?
For saddle-stitch booklets, divide your page count by 4 (each sheet gives 4 pages when folded). For a 24-page booklet, you need 6 sheets. For perfect-bound booklets, divide by 2 (double-sided printing). A 24-page perfect-bound booklet needs 12 sheets.
What is saddle-stitch binding?
Saddle-stitch is when folded sheets are stapled through the spine fold. It is the most affordable booklet binding method, ideal for magazines, catalogs, and booklets up to 64 pages. The page count must be a multiple of 4.
How do I calculate booklet spine thickness?
Multiply the number of pages by paper thickness (in mm). For example, a 100-page booklet on 80 GSM paper (0.10mm thick): 100 x 0.10 = 10mm spine. Our calculator does this automatically for any page count and paper weight.
What is the maximum page count for saddle-stitch?
Saddle-stitch binding works best for booklets up to 64 pages (16 sheets). Beyond that, the staples struggle to hold and the booklet won't lay flat. For thicker documents, switch to perfect binding.
